Privacy Policy

Last updated 3 October 2026

This policy explains what personal information Lifeful collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We collect only what we need to run the service.

1. Who we are

Lifeful (“we”, “us”) runs the shared disposable camera service at this website. For any privacy question, write to hello@lifeful.app.

2. What we collect

Hosts (people who create events):

  • Your name and email address, and a password that is stored securely by our sign-in provider.
  • The details of your events: name, occasion, date, film, settings and background image.
  • Order records for purchases: what you bought, the amount and the date. Your card details are handled by our payment partner and never reach us.

Guests (people who join an event):

  • The name you type when you join. No email or account is needed.
  • The photos you take in the Lifeful camera, with when they were taken and the film used.
  • A random identifier saved in your browser. On our servers it is stored only as a scrambled (hashed) value, so we can allow one registration per device and keep the shot limit fair.
  • Camera access, only while you use the Lifeful camera, and only after your browser asks your permission. We do not record video or audio.

Everyone: our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, for security and reliability. We also count basic events, such as a photo being taken, to run the service.

3. Why we use it

  • To provide the service: creating events, letting guests join, taking and revealing photos.
  • To take payments, send receipts and keep the records we are required to keep.
  • To email you about your events, such as reminders before photos are removed.
  • To keep Lifeful secure and prevent misuse, such as getting around guest and shot limits.
  • To improve the service.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

4. Who sees your photos

Photos are private until the host reveals the film. After that, the host's privacy setting decides who can see them: only the host, the guests of that event, or anyone with the link. Hosts can hide individual photos from the gallery.

5. Who we share information with

We use a small number of service providers to run Lifeful. They only handle information for that purpose.

  • Supabase: database, sign-in and photo storage.
  • Vercel: website hosting.
  • Resend: sending service emails.
  • Creem: payments. Creem is the merchant of record, so it processes your payment and handles sales tax and VAT under its own privacy policy.

We may also share information when the law requires it, or to protect people from harm. Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, with the protections these providers have in place.

6. Cookies and similar storage

We use only what the service needs to work:

  • Sign-in cookies that keep hosts logged in.
  • A device cookie and local storage in the guest's browser that remember who joined an event and how many shots are used.
  • Local storage that saves your answers while you set up an event, so nothing is lost if you leave and come back.

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

7. How long we keep information

  • Photos are kept for a period after the event, then removed. Free events keep photos for at least 30 days and paid events for at least 12 months. We email hosts before removal.
  • If a host deletes an event, its photos, guest list and challenges are permanently removed.
  • Account details are kept until you ask us to delete your account.
  • Order records are kept for as long as accounting and tax rules require.

8. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see, correct, delete or export your personal information, to object to how we use it, and to complain to your local data protection authority. To use any of these rights, email hello@lifeful.app. Hosts can also delete events themselves from the dashboard. A guest who wants a photo removed can ask the host or contact us.

9. Children

Hosts must be at least 18 and Lifeful is not directed at children. Events can include people of any age, and hosts are responsible for making sure everyone taking part, including children, is comfortable with it and has the right to take part.

10. Security

We protect information with encrypted connections, access controls and private storage for photos. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and tell us straight away if you think your account has been misused.

11. Changes and contact

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you by email or in the app. Questions? Write to hello@lifeful.app. See also our Terms of Service.
